Identify Which Stage of the Swap Failed
When Ledger Live Swap is not working, establish whether the failure occurred while obtaining a quote, approving a transaction, broadcasting funds, or waiting for the provider to complete the exchange. The application is now called Ledger Wallet. These stages involve different systems and need different remedies.
Record the provider, source and destination assets, networks, error message, and any swap identifier. If a transaction was already signed, check its blockchain hash before creating another request. A delayed provider response does not prove that the original outgoing transfer never happened.
If No Quote Is Available
Check whether the selected asset pair, amount, networks, and region are supported by the providers currently offered in the app. Minimum and maximum amounts can differ between routes. A missing quote can reflect availability rather than a broken hardware wallet.
Refresh the feature on a trusted connection and check Ledger’s service status along with any relevant provider notice. An expired quote should be reviewed again because the rate, fees, and received amount may change. Do not approve a replacement quote solely because the original request looked acceptable.
If the Device Cannot Sign
Update the Software Layers
Use the supported app release and review the device OS and device apps required by that route. Ledger’s App update required guide explains why a current desktop application does not guarantee current hardware apps. Different swap integrations can request different device apps.
Confirm the Correct Account and Connection
Unlock the matching Ledger and open the requested app. Close competing wallet sessions if they occupy the connection. A device configured with another recovery phrase or additional passphrase cannot sign for an unrelated source account, even if the account name looks familiar.
Check Fees and Token Permissions
Ensure the source account has the fee asset required on its actual network. Some token swaps need a separate spending approval before the exchange transaction. Review the spender, allowance, amount, and contract action; an approval alone does not mean the swap has completed.
If Funds Were Already Broadcast
Inspect the outgoing transaction on the correct chain. A pending transfer may delay the provider’s receipt. A reverted transaction can consume network fees without completing the intended contract operation. Do not repeatedly submit transfers or approvals while the previous attempt remains uncertain.
For provider-processed exchanges, open the swap history and preserve its identifier. Ledger’s swap status documentation describes provider statuses and the importance of the Swap ID for support. The provider’s processing, review, or refund process is separate from ordinary portfolio synchronization.
Escalate to the Right Support Team
Contact the selected provider through its verified official route for a funded order, using the swap identifier and relevant transaction hashes. Contact Ledger Support for application or device errors. Never share recovery words, and do not send an extra verification payment to an address supplied in an unsolicited message.
Review any proposed next action on the hardware screen. A supported swap integration does not guarantee the outcome of every provider or smart contract, and a local app reinstall cannot cancel an exchange already in progress.

It may refresh local history after a display problem, but it does not complete the provider’s exchange or force a refund. Investigate the actual swap status and chain transactions.
Why did approval succeed but the swap fail?
A token allowance and an exchange transaction can be separate operations. Check both records and the requested permissions before deciding whether to retry.
Should I raise slippage until the transaction works?
Do not increase it blindly. Slippage changes the execution terms you accept. Review the route, price movement, fees, and provider guidance before approving a different tolerance.
