Synopsis

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 is an episodic anthology series that tells short, self-contained stories, each with a different style of animation. For Season 2, Star Wars: Visions goes global. Studios from around the world take on the task of translating the lore and mythos of the Star Wars universe into their own unique style of animation.

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 is an upcoming animated anthology television show. Season 2 offers animation studios across the world the opportunity to produce a short Star Wars story. The countries confirmed to be represented so far are the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Chile, France, South Africa, and the USA. The first season was a collection of nine stories from seven different Japanese animation studios. The idea was to honor the role that Japanese culture has played in the Star Wars universe.

Season 2 is executive produced by James Waugh, the Vice President of Franchise Content & Strategy at Lucasfilm. The shorts in Season 2 of Star Wars Visions are produced by the following animation studios: Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman Animation (United Kingdom), El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Studio Mir (South Korea), 88 Pictures (India) Triggerfish (South Africa) and D’art Shtajio (Japan).

Where to stream

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 is set to be released exclusively on Disney+. It will release on May 4th, 2023.

  • May 29, 2022: Star Wars: Visions Season 2 was first announced at Star Wars Celebration. It was confirmed in the announcement that the show would be available on Disney+ at some point in Spring 2023. (Source: StarWars)
